Vlog: The Loss of a Monarch: Traveling in a Country in Mourning

October 13th, 2017 marks one year anniversary since Thailand lost its beloved monarch, King Bhumibol Adulyadej. A year-long period of mourning was announced after his death. A royal cremation ceremony will take place over five days at the end of October 2017. The actual cremation will be held on 26 October 2017. Following cremation his ashes will be taken to the Grand Palace and will be enshrined at one of the palace’s Buddhist temples.

Our guest blogger, Jamie, happened to visit Thailand last year, a few days after kings passing and she shared her incredible experience with us in this vlog.
