Episode 15: Permission to take small steps towards your goal

Featuring Dana Cooper

This week, I was catching up with Dana Cooper, who traveled to Scotland with our women-only group! We talked about all the small ways you can give yourself permission to invest time in yourself. It all starts with baby steps towards that big goal (whatever it is) and snowballs into something great.

Dedicating an hour or two a week to do things that matter to you is, in fact, signing your own permission slip – even if it is still a work in progress. We talked about Dana making travel a priority for herself, to explore Scottish history and the amazing locations in Outlander books, and the small first steps it took to make it a reality.

By taking a leap of faith to travel with a small group of other women she didn’t know, Dana followed her heart to Scotland and this amazing experience pushed her to see more of the world she wanted to explore. Now, she’s set a goal to travel once a year and to have one amazing big trip to look forward to.

Her advice to other women? Just do it – pick an idea, find something that interests you (a book you read, food you love) or whatever it is that speaks to you. Plan something and just do it.
