How awesome would it be if you could travel every month of the year? Well, maybe not every month of the same year, but, no matter when you want to feed your wanderlust soul, the world is at your fingertips. Check out our list of recommended destinations based on when it is the best time of the year to visit them.
January – Finland or Arizona
In January, if you visit Finland or Arizona, you will get very different but unique experiences.
In Finland, you will enjoy winter wonderland like no other with reindeer sleigh rides and stay in a glass igloo while enjoying the breathtaking Northern lights.
In Arizona, you get to see snow in Flagstaff and then lay by the pool in Scottsdale all in the same day. Being a mountainous state, it gives you a variety of climates that is just a short drive apart.
February – Hawaii or Jamaica
If you want to escape the cold temperatures of February and getaway to paradise, there are no better places to go than Hawaii or Jamaica. Both locations offer warm weather and some of the best beaches and resorts for you to be pampered and live stress-free for a little while.
March – Japan or India
If you want to see the phenomenon of the cherry blossoms in all their glory, a visit to Japan in March should be on your calendar. This is one of the most naturally beautiful things you will see in your lifetime!
On the flip side, India offers a lot of variety of experiences such as serene beaches, wildlife and floral sanctuaries, unique festivals such as the Losar Tibetan festival and magnificent architecture. You will have a lot to do and enjoy if you visit India in March.
April – Netherlands or Costa Rica
If you are fascinated by tulips in full bloom, the place to be in April is the Netherlands. The sight is simply amazing and you should see it at least once in a lifetime.
Costa Rica, on the other hand, is one of the naturally most beautiful places on earth with endless natural adventures such as zip lining, waterfalls, and unspoiled beaches. April is a perfect time to visit this nature isle before the onset of rainy season.
May – Florence & The Tuscany Region, Italy
This is one of the best times of year to visit this renowned wine producing region. The temperature is warm, so you can shed your winter layers for touring the many vineyards in the area and just enjoy the wonders of spring in this historic region of Italy. When, if ever, you get tired of the beautiful natural setting of the Tuscan hills, head to Florence for the arts, culture, and cuisine. You can’t go wrong with Italy in May!
June – Yellowstone National Park or Canada
The Yellowstone National Park is stunning throughout the year; however, the end of spring in June is the perfect time to visit the park, before it gets too hot in the summer. It is an incredible site that you should definitely add to your bucket list!
June is also the perfect month to visit Canada’s best attractions such as Niagara Falls on the East side of the country or the natural beauty of lakes, mountains and woods of British Columbia on the West side, and the many other beautiful attractions in this massive country.
July – Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe or Portland & Seattle
The African countries of Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe with their amazing wildlife reserves and warm temperatures are also great spots to visit in July, their winter season. If planning a trip there, consider making your reservations well in advance, as July is their busy season and hotels and tours get sold out fast.
July, the traditional summer season in the USA, is a great time to visit the cities of Portland and Seattle. These cities offer exceptional dining options and entertainment and are just three hours away from each other driving. It is the perfect destination for the family vacation in the warm summer months.
August – Wales (U.K) or Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark)
Wales (UK), Sweden, Norway and Denmark are the perfect serene locations with a variety of things for the discerning traveler to explore, especially in the warm weather of August. There are a variety of attractions such as castles, forts, lakes, trails, majestic fjords, scenic railroad rides and more. These destinations are great for you if you love to explore nature and culture.
September – Germany for Oktoberfest or Spain
For the ultimate entertainment in Europe, the place to be in September is Munich, Germany which hosts the very popular Oktoberfest, the worlds largest beer festival. People from all over the world flock to Munich to taste different kinds of and to enjoy the festivities.
Spain, in addition to its majestic and mysterious medieval castles, towns, and squares, also hosts several festivals in September such as the festival of grape stomping, the traditional treading on grapes in wine production. Seems that September is a boozy time of the year in Europe!
October – Barbados or Aruba
These two small island nations have been welcoming international travelers for a long while to their beaches and warm weather all year round. October is a great time to visit to avoid the crowds (kids are already back to school) and to enjoy all of the cultural activities, delectable island cuisine, and heart-warming entertainment. Also, these islands lay outside of the Caribbean hurricane belt, which makes them even more attractive destinations for an early fall getaway. Go ahead and book your trip to Barbados or Aruba for this October!
November – Riviera Maya, Mexico or the Dominican Republic
