It’s our time to travel! Celebrating women exploring the world

Women are claiming their space in the world!
To every woman dreaming of travel: this is your time!
Now more than ever, women are seizing the opportunity to explore the world on their own terms. Whether exploring new cities, embarking on immersive cultural experiences, or saying yes to thrilling adventures, the world is calling—and it’s ready to be explored.
With shifting societal perceptions of women’s independence and adventure, travel is becoming more accessible, safe, and uplifting.
International Women’s Day is one of the perfect times to reflect, celebrate the freedom, joy, and empowerment that comes from discovering new places and embracing new experiences.
Travel inspires cultural exchange & new perspectives
With years in New York City as my base, I traveled to Europe and experienced its beautiful antiquity and genuine charm —qualities that many American cities strive to emulate. It’s inspiring to see more women engaging in immersive cultural experiences, breaking societal norms, and promoting a global sisterhood through travel.
Travel encourages you to step outside your comfort zone, embrace spontaneity, and connect with people from different backgrounds. Whether it’s navigating a new city, learning a few words in another language, or sharing a meal with locals, each journey brings a sense of empowerment and adventure. These moments create lasting memories and deepen cross-cultural understanding.

Highlighting & celebrating women-owned travel businesses
One of the most rewarding aspects of solo and group travel is the sense of community it creates—women supporting women in travel. Happily, there are numerous women-led travel groups, female-run accommodations, and online communities where women can connect, share tips, and even meet up for adventures.
Speaking of great resources worth celebrating, one standout is Anna Fishman’s Sign Your Own Permission Slip podcast. It’s an influential space for authentic travel discussions, captivating stories, and expert insights. I love tuning in to hear Anna’s smart and timely conversations—covering everything from women’s entrepreneurial journeys to the origins of delicious Southern Italian recipes shared during group cooking classes in Sicily.
Grab your luggage! Europe: best destinations for women travelers
Europe is a dream for women travelers, offering a perfect mix of culture, beauty, and unforgettable experiences. Paris, the quintessential City of Light, is ideal for a solo getaway. Stroll along the Seine, visit world-famous museums, and indulge in buttery croissants at a cozy café.
The best part? Paris embraces solo travelers—whether you’re dining alone in a charming bistro or exploring hidden art galleries.
If your ideal day starts with a bike ride, Amsterdam, known for its safe, scenic, bike-friendly streets and welcoming locals, is a great destination. Explore the Rijksmuseum, cruise the canals, or join a women-led history tour to learn about notable Dutch women throughout history.
If there’s one place to enjoy with your best girlfriends, it’s Santorini, Greece—one of my all-time favorite and most breathtaking destinations. The moment I stepped off the plane, I was immediately welcomed by the warmth and hospitality of the Greek people.
You’ll love strolling along the white-washed buildings, admiring the historical blue-domed churches set against stunning, Instagram-worthy sunsets, and relaxing by cliffside infinity pools.
Iceland is definitely on my bucket list! Reykjavik is one of the safest destinations in the world, making it a top choice for solo travelers who especially love nature. Chase waterfalls, relax in the Blue Lagoon, or take a solo road trip along the Ring Road—you’ll find inspiration in Iceland’s raw beauty.
Be bold, brave, and travel
International Women’s Day is a reminder to celebrate courage, curiosity, and adventure. Whether you’re planning a dream getaway, discovering a new passion, or simply saying yes to more travel experiences, now is the time to make it happen!
