Family travel & what kids learn along the way

Don’t wait for your kids to be 5 or 15 or 25 to travel with them... go! Just go!

One of my most treasured childhood memories is traveling to New York City and seeing snow for the very first time. Far from my Caribbean homeland, my imagination and curiosity grew. I learned about climate, resilience, and even a new language!
That’s why I believe one of the most valuable gifts you can give your children isn’t something you can wrap, but it’s the experience of traveling together as a family. Because beyond all fun and relaxation, these trips will surely spark curiosity, a spirit of adventure, confidence, and create meaningful (and yes, absolutely magical) memories that last a lifetime.
What kids learn when they travel
Balance. Adventures need breathing room! Exclusive-access tours without crowds, calm botanical garden strolls can totally give kids time to recharge between discoveries.
Mindfulness. Choosing just one show-stopping experience each day teaches kids to savor the moment instead of rushing through it. How about a private gondola ride in Venice at sunset or a hands-on pastry-making class in Paris!?
Comfort. When your accommodations are part of the adventure, children see that “home” can be anywhere that feels safe and welcoming. Think spacious suites with terraces, private pools, or hotels with kids’ clubs and 24/7 room service (champagne for you, chicken nuggets for them).
Perspective. Your kids will discover that the journey is just as special as the destination. Private transfers, first-class train compartments, airport lounge access, and overnight flights with flatbed seats all show that getting there can be part of the magic.
4 parent-approved travel tips
Pack your patience & carry extra clothes: For everyone. Juice spills and travel mishaps happen.
Expect the unexpected. The hiccups often become the best stories.
Do less, experience more. Leave space for wandering and wonder.
Savor tiny wonders. The giggles in the hotel bed or chasing pigeons in a piazza are the real souvenirs.
