Another off-the-beaten-path destination in Europe?
Yes, please! Discover Madeira, Portugal
Exciting news for those who want to travel to Madeira, Portugal – starting November, you can fly there non-stop from New York!
It’s a four-season island destination with a mild climate, pleasant temperatures, spectacular ocean and cliff views (think “Hawaii of Europe”!), and delicious cuisine, and wine. However, unlike Hawaii, Madeira is only 6-hour direct flight, while getting to Hawaii will take you at least 12 hrs from New York/NJ airports.
Madeira is the perfect year-round destination (and the majority speaks English!), that’s located only 90 minutes away from the mainland Portugal. With mild temperatures, crystal-clear waters and lush green forests, Madeira offers an endless array of activities!
Things To Do in Madeira

Did you know?
Madeira was in the Guinness World Records book for their incredible firework display to celebrate the New Year – the “biggest fireworks display of the World.”
This tradition takes us back to the 17th century and is a fun and festive way to ring in the New Year.

There are so many other exciting destinations in Portugal!
Lisbon is a popular destination for foodies, couples, and families with kids.
Throw on those comfortable shoes and enjoy walking the hilly cobblestone streets that spread throughout Lisbon. The downtown part of Lisbon is located in the upper part of the city, and the “old” historic part is closer to the water and the tourist attractions. One attraction you won’t want to miss in Lisbon is the Avenida da Liberdade – its very large and broad avenue that connects the “new” and the “old” parts of the city!
Once you’ve seen what you want to see in Lisbon, there are so many other places to visit in Portugal like Sintra, Cabo da Roca, Porto, the Douro Valley, Evora, Obidos, Nazare, and more. The list goes on and on!
