Where is the best ski slopes in Europe?
The Madonna di Campiglio town, along with nearby Pinzolo, Val Rendena, Giudicarie Centrali and Valle del Chiese are located in Western Trentino, in northern Italy.
Nestled between the rocky spires of the Brent Dolomites, and the sparkling expanse of the glaciers atop the imposing Adamello-Presanella mountain range, Madonna di Campiglio, at an altitude of 1,550 m (5,085 ft), is one of the most famous tourist destinations of the entire Alps.
When can you ski in Italy?
Blanketed in snow in winter, the area’s lengthy skiing season and other winter sports – together with 156 km of ski runs within the Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta ski area, Trentino’s largest – begins in November and ends in April. And for those looking for something a bit different, the silent beauty of winter is there to be discovered, either on foot or with snowshoes, along stunning, marked trails throughout the valley.
Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo are connected by the Pinzolo-Campiglio Express. A gondola lift will take you from a resort to a resort, as vou enjoy spectacular views over the stunning Adamello-Brenta Natural Park.
As much as 95% of the ski runs are covered by snow-making systems, guaranteeing prime skiing conditions, and skiers can choose from among 100 runs (including 42 beginner, 37 intermediate and 21 expert runs).
What else to do in Dolomites in the winter?
Snoboarding fans can enjoy four snowboard parks, including the Ursus Snow Park in Groste. Which is considered one of the Alps’ top five of its kind. The skiability of the slopes is ensured by the various water basins that serve the snow-making systems.
What kind of hotels are in the Madonna di Campiglio?
Most of the hotels feature wellness areas with pools, spas with innovative, natural beauty services, fitness centers, and relaxation areas to help you relax and regenerate yourself.
The area boasts the highest concentration of four-star and four-star superior hotels in the Trentino region. There are also three five-star hotels, and a new five-star luxury hotel in Pinzolo. Inspired by sustainability, overall wellness, and Italian style – opened its doors in August 2019.
There are 14 “green” hotels that have earned Qualità Parco certification – which the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park grants to lodging facilities that meet strict standards – and are leaders in reducing environmental impact.

Over the last 15 years, Madonna di Campiglio has been undergoing a sort of “food revolution.” With hoteliers bringing luxury restaurants to their facilities to bring the culture of fine dining in the area to new heights. Today, three of these restaurants have each earned themselves a Michelin star. The quality of gourmet cuisine is well-renowned throughout the area.
